Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. |
1. A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula LeGuinn - This is an amazing book, but the way that it is written is very hard to read. I'm the type of person that likes to breeze through books, but this one wasn't like that. It took me a while to read because of the writing style.
2. Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor - I really don't know what it is about this book. I am about half-way through and have been for over a month now. For whatever reason, I just can't finish it.
3. A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini - This is an amazing book (so far I'm only on page 60ish) but for whatever reason it took me forever to pick it up this month. It's the book that I'm reading with my family this month but I literally just picked it up. I think I was intimidated by it, and that's why it took me a while to actually pick it up and read.
4. Beowulf - Um... well... it's in middle English. 'nuff said
5. Savages by Joe Kane - The subject matter was really difficult for me when I was required to read it. I read it in 10th grade and I don't know if I was really ready to read something like this. My dad actually read it before I did and blocked out what he didn't want me to read.
6. The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkein - Okay, so I was actually listening to the audio book. But it was getting really hard for me to keep up and keep the characters straight and figure out what was happening. I think I'll try actually reading it first and then listening to it again.
7. The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare - I was thoroughly pissed off by something that happened. I know that it changes later on I just got really pissed off and it's hard for me to keep reading the series.
8. The Old Man and the Sea by Earnest Hemingway - I became a vegetarian after reading like the first few chapters of this book because I was so disgusted.
9. Into the Wild by Jon Krakaure - This was just hard to read.
10. Anything that was assigned by a teacher ever. Something rebellious in me just didn't want to read anything that was assigned.
