Updates: Today was pretty chill. I didn't end up reading much at all because I had to run some errands and I had work. So not much to say...
Currently Reading:
Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern (listening to the audio book on chapter 19)
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

Bout of Books 11: Day 4
Updates: Today didn't start out so great. I was busy all morning and most of the afternoon babysitting, so I couldn't get much done then. I read like 30 pages of If I Stay by Gayle Forman while the baby was napping. I wasn't expecting to get much reading done today, but oh my god, I don't think I've ever read a book that quickly in my life. I loved it so much! I laughed and I cried and I'm still in that post-book-finishing-haze. And with finishing this book, I have officially completed my goal of reading 4 books during this read-a-thon. I know that I read 2 books that weren't on my TBR, but sometimes you've got to go with your gut and just pick something up. I honestly didn't think that I would be completing my goal so I'm really glad that I have. Now on to the rest of my TBR for the week/month.

Bout of Books 11: Day 2
Updates: I finished Lola today. It was incredible. I don't know if I liked it quite as much as I liked Anna but I still gave it 5/5 stars and I'm so looking forward to finally getting a copy of Isla. I'm still reading Dreams of Gods and Monsters (although I said nothing about it in my update yesterday). I just really kinda needed a break from the fantasy so while I'm reading this book slowly, just a few chapters a day, I figured I'd read a couple contemporaries that I could finish pretty quickly. Although, now I'm stuck as to what I want to read next. Do I want to continue with my TBR or read another contemporary (like I want to do)? I know that I can probably read the books in my TBR as well as add another contemporary, but I don't know if I should. Or should I focus on Dreams of Gods and Monsters and try to finish that during this week? I know I'm going to be reading it for the rest of tonight, I just don't know if I'll pick up another book tomorrow or continue with this one or not.

Bout of Books 11: Day 1
UPDATES:
So the first thing I read today was a novella. I needed a contemporary read and I knew that I was going to be reading Lola and the Boy Next Door today, but I was searching Barnes & Noble online and I saw that Finding Cinderella by Colleen Hoover was free to download on my Nook. So I thought, "Well this is perfect! Something short and contemporary, and I've heard lots of good things about Colleen Hoover." And it was. It was a really good read (I gave it 4/5 stars on Good Reads, but I could bump that up to like a 4.5) and it was exactly what I needed. I was in this long fantasy kick and I was feeling a slump coming on and was craving a contemporary. (I'm still in the middle of reading Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor, and I will continue to read it throughout this week.) So I decided before I read Lola today, I would read this short novella and give myself a sense of accomplishment. Of course I find out after I read it that it is part of a series, and that it should be read 3rd. But at least it is only a companion to the actual series and I don't think it spoiled too much of the series (the Hopeless series by the way). Maybe I'll do a series review once I read the other two books, which now I will because I liked this novella so much. Barnes & Noble really has to step up their game in telling people if things are part of a series, seriously.

Bout of Books Scavenger Hunt
So I posted all of these on Instagram, but I figured that I'd post them all here in one post as well.
1. A book that begins with a "B."
2. A book that has been made into a movie/tv show.
3. A series that you love.
4. An anthology of poems or short stories.
5. A book on our TBR shelf, or you TBR shelves.

Bout of Books 11
What's this? Another read-a-thon!?

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 18th and runs through Sunday, August 24th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 11 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team
So yeah, I'm going to do another read-a-thon. I really enjoyed participating in the Booktube-a-thon, so I wanted to do another one. So here we are.
This read-a-thon, I'm not going to be trying to read quite as much, I'm only going to try to make a dent in my TBR for the month. But I've been really busy at work this month so far and I really want to read! I'm hoping to read at least 4 books off my TBR pile. So...
GOALS: Read 4 books.
BOOKS TO READ:
The Giver by Lois Lowry (movie this month)
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline (The Little Book Club book)
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo (Decatur Book Festival guest)
Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins (Isla's coming out! and Decatur Book Festival Guest)
So let's go I'm so ready!
xoxo Jennie
